Arise o compatriots!

Yesterday a few minutes to nine in the morning, somewhere around Airport road, Ajao Estate, a girl on a commercial motorcycle, popularly called okada in Nigeria, was hit by a car.
Very soon a crowd gathered and cries of "she don die" (she is dead) rang out as the girl lay there on the cold asphalt. Across the road was this group of individuals on their way to the second service of their church. They sent a prayer to this girl, asking God to preserve her life and were about to be on their way when one of them noticed the girl was still moving. This was God's answer to the prayer they made.

They quickly swung into action and moved to the scene of the accident. They asked that people give some room to get this girl to a hospital but people just lamented the young lady's death. No one was doing anything! As my friends told me this story, I kept wondering: what's wrong with us? Is it the fear of taking responsibility or just an ignorance of what to do? Ok Let me get back to my story.

Eventually they managed to get her into their car and because they don't live in that area, they asked for the nearest hospital, and despite having people who helped them get the lady into the car, no one knew where a hospital was! To cut a long story short, they eventually got her to a hospital and eventhough she lost a leg, the lady is alive.

What's my point? Nigeria's deliverance is not in this present government. Its with the Davids that are living at the backside of the desert. Its obvious our leaders are clueless. They are as much victims as the polity is.
Most Nigerians are clueless as to resolving our nation's crisis. We are good at running commentaries and continually speak the evil but do absolutely nothing. Zilch. Nada! We just keep wailing, like that crowd, Naija don die.

If you are a disciple of Jesus Christ, then the responsibility is yours to effect change in your sphere of influence. Joseph didn't go to Egypt for self-agrandisement. It was a God-sending to save the world. David killed Goliath not because he planned to. God ordered his step that day and he just stepped in to save his fellow countrymen the embarrassment the Philistine was causing. Go out and do some good today. Nigeria's call for saviours obey.
