6th edition Of Gospel Night Live tomorrow!

In case you didn't know, the sixth installment of the explosive monthly gospel concert is scheduled for tomorrow. The monthly programme is a platform for upcoming gospel acts to show the stuff they are made of and also an opportunity to meet the established ones on a closer, more friendly atmosphere.

I heard about the programme only last month and I was not in Lagos. The program is sponsored by Spinlet with partnership support from X2D, Nomoreloss Productions, Airvibez Nigeria, Rodizzio and E.M.I. So far so good, the program has been held successfully 5 times and this is the 6th edition. I watched a few videos of old editions and loved what I saw and so I planned to attend the next one. Coincidentally it fell on my daughter's 4th birthday, 25th October. Well that means that the next one in November is a must-attend for me.

If you're an upcoming christian/gospel musician, who believes he has something to offer to the body of believers and the world at large, I believe this is a program worth attending. Here are the details

VENUE: Onward Complex, Alausa (DFS studios, Plot Yb, Mobolaji Johnson st. Near 7UP)
DATE: Thursday October 25th
TIME: 6-9pm

By the way, there will be free transportation from The Rodizzo, 29 Isaac John, Ikeja from 5pm.

Unfortunately I couldn't get any banner for this month's GNLive but here is a videos for your enjoyment. Head to their blog for more videos.

Calling for the Leadership that....

Take a look around you and you'll observe that there is a scarcity of leadership. I'm talking about leaders whose personal values are enough to make them pillars that provide the essential support for the structures they support, whether that's a company  a local government or even a family. To make things even worse, the ones that occupy the visible positions behave as they like, not caring that there is a generation that is watching them, learning from them.

Content That Sells!

I'd like to share a few tips to creating content that is engaging and as promised, I'll be focusing on songwriters.
1. Use The bible! (stories) Put yourself in the scenarios. What would have been your response? How would the character have acted/reacted if he/she were living in another timeframe? That's why the animated movie, The Prince Of Egypt sold so much.
2. Use fresh camera angles. By viewing an issue from fresh angles, you present it in a new light. Tell the story from another person's point of view e.g. a third party, an onlooker, etc imagine you were a servant in Potiphar's house, how would you report what happened to Joseph?
3. Real life stories or situations work well too. Focus on the values you'd like to teach & use the experience to project it.
4. Perfect the art of story telling & make your story believable. Hollywood sells make-believe like its true life.
Well that's some tips for now. More tips coming soon.

Arise o compatriots!

Yesterday a few minutes to nine in the morning, somewhere around Airport road, Ajao Estate, a girl on a commercial motorcycle, popularly called okada in Nigeria, was hit by a car.
Very soon a crowd gathered and cries of "she don die" (she is dead) rang out as the girl lay there on the cold asphalt. Across the road was this group of individuals on their way to the second service of their church. They sent a prayer to this girl, asking God to preserve her life and were about to be on their way when one of them noticed the girl was still moving. This was God's answer to the prayer they made.
